Chapter 6 – Peter and John Imprisoned

The Jewish leaders didn’t know what to do with the growing Christian church. The number of Christians in Jerusalem was increasing daily, with no end in sight. Somehow, they must put a stop to the new Christian movement. Both Sadducees and Pharisees agreed now that they must work together to stop the church from gaining new converts. For starters, they put Peter and John in prison and accused them of murdering Ananias and Sapphira. If they could make the crowds angry enough over such an accusation, maybe a mob would beat the disciples to death.
