Chapter 6 – Miracles in a Jar

It was a very bad time for the people of Israel. Rain had not fallen for almost a year now. There were no leaves on the trees anymore. There was no green grass in the fields and pastures. It seemed that every living thing was gone now, eaten down very short to the ground by the herds of cattle, sheep, and goats. The streams and rivers were drying up. Even the Jordan River was very small now, like a tiny creek.
