Peter, James, and John had spent the night with Jesus on the mountain praying. They had also been witnesses to an incredible appearance by Moses and Elijah from heaven to encourage Jesus. Most awesome of all was the voice they had heard from heaven telling them that Jesus was the Son of God. It was an amazing memory that they would have for the rest of their lives!
