Every year in the spring, Mary and Joseph went to Jerusalem for the Feast of the Passover. The year Jesus turned 12, He also went up with them and took part in the services. For the first time Jesus saw the temple in Jerusalem. He saw the white-robed priests performing their duties. He bowed in prayer with the worshippers as the incense rose to God. He saw the bleeding lambs on the altar of sacrifice.
