The Pharisees and scribes in Capernaum did not like Jesus. He taught from the Scriptures and not the traditions of the Jewish Sanhedrin as they did, so they had many disagreements. When crowds of people would gather around Jesus to listen to His words from Scripture, the Pharisees would try to argue with Him. This made things very difficult for Jesus. He realized that this was not the best place to spread the gospel right now and decided to leave Galilee for a while.
