Since the days of Adam and Eve, the people of God had been looking for the Redeemer who would come to take away the sins of the world. The lamb they sacrificed on an altar represented the Life that would one day be given so they might be restored to Eden. Their faith in God reached out to the future, and Seth, Enoch, Methuselah, and Noah all did their part to keep that faith alive.
