Jesus and His disciples were very tired. They had spent the entire night out on the stormy lake. Then that morning Jesus had healed two demoniacs on the beaches of Gadara before crossing the lake again to Capernaum. No sooner had they gotten back, however, than they were met by Jairus, a synagogue leader in Capernaum. He asked Jesus to go see his daughter who was very sick.
