The twelve tribes of Israel had been wandering in the wilderness for almost forty years. When they arrived at a place called Kadesh Barnea in the Wilderness of Zin, a host of memories came to mind. This spot was very near the borders of Canaan, and Israel had been here before. Just two short years after escaping from Egypt, they had come to this place the first time, and Moses had sent twelve spies to check out the land.
