Chapter 32 – David Crowned King

Not long after Israel’s battle against the Philistines, David got word that it had been a disaster for Israel. There was a great slaughter of the Israelite army, and King Saul and his three sons fell in one day. Even though Saul had been David’s enemy, he and his men mourned the loss of these national heroes. They fasted until evening, and David even wrote a song titled “Song of the Bow” to honor the king and Jonathan.
