During the centuries since the time of Jesus, the Christian church has changed so much. In the beginning, the church was pure, humble, and willing to go anywhere and make any sacrifice for Jesus and the gospel. Satan had persecuted the church relentlessly, but it had remained faithful and grown in spite of the worst he could throw at it.
