It would seem King Saul would have been kind to David since the shepherd warrior had spared the king’s life when they met earlier at the cave of Engedi. Wasn’t he grateful? Didn’t he have more important things to do in his kingdom than chasing David around? However, King Saul was not in touch with God anymore. He had been doing evil for so long now, he probably was having a hard time knowing right from wrong.
