Jesus needed to spend time with His disciples to train them for their future work as evangelists. But there were always crowds of people who needed to be healed and hundreds who wanted to hear the word of God. Many times when the crowds were gathered around Jesus to hear Him preach, He was actually training the disciples for service. Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount was given at one of those times. It is probably the most famous sermon of all time. It can be found in Matthew, chapters 5-7, and it teaches us many things about how to live a Christian life.
