For years, God had been sending his prophets to warn the people of Judah to obey God’s commandments. If they did not, He was going to let them and the city of Jerusalem be overrun by their enemies. But the people would not listen. They continued to worship their idols, take bribes in their courts of law, and treat poor people badly.
