Chapter 27 – A King Almost Becomes a Christian

Paul’s life was in danger, and there wasn’t a minute to spare. His nephew had warned him that a band of 40 Jews had taken a vow to kill him, and when the Roman commander Lysias found out, he came up with a plan. Immediately he called for two centurions. “Prepare 200 soldiers, 70 horsemen, and 200 spearmen to go to Caesarea at the third hour of the night,” he told them. “And provide mounts to set Paul on and take him safely to Felix, the governor.”
