Chapter 26 – Paul Before the Sanhedrin

The Roman commander Lysias wanted to keep peace in Jerusalem. The Jews there hated Paul. They wanted to see him dead because of crimes that they said he had done in their temple. But Lysias was sure that Paul was innocent, and decided to have him brought to trial before the Jewish Sanhedrin just in case. The next day, he ordered the chief priests and elders of the Jewish council to meet together and question Paul.
