King Saul was so impressed with David after he killed the giant Goliath, that he wouldn’t let him go home anymore. After all, a young man that could play the lyre as well as David, fight off lions and bears, and kill a Philistine giant like Goliath, was worth too much. In fact, the King made David part of his bodyguard to attend him wherever he went.
