Chapter 22 – David Brought Before the King

David paused at the gate to the King’s fortress in Gibeah. The day was a dreary one, and the sky was overcast. Clouds hung low giving the fortress a cold, lonely look. He had been called to the king’s royal court because he could play the lyre, or harp, as some called it. Someone who had heard him play must have recommended him to the King’s advisors, because here he was being asked to play for the king.
