Paul and Silas had been in Thessalonica for a while, but it wasn’t safe for them anymore. So the brothers and sisters in the church sent them away to Berea late one night. When the two missionaries arrived and the Sabbath day rolled around again, they had to make a decision. Should they go to the Jewish synagogue as they usually did? It was the best place to meet with the believers. But would they be treated badly as they had been in Thessalonica?
