Jesus was always looking for opportunities to teach His disciples lessons that would be helpful to them in their ministry. Showing mercy was one character trait that He wanted His followers to have, and so was forgiveness. If they could develop these traits, they would become more like the Father in heaven. One day Peter came to Jesus to ask Him a question. “Lord, how often should I forgive my brother who has sinned against me? Up to seven times?”
