One day when Jesus was in the temple, He told a very interesting story. The religious leaders of Jerusalem were there dressed in all their fine clothes, but many common, everyday people were there, too. Jesus knew that most of the priests and Pharisees thought very highly of themselves. Instead of depending on God for their salvation, they depended on their own works. They also believed that God loved them more than any other group of people.
