By the early 1600s, there were many countries in Europe that wanted to be free from the power of the Church of Rome. They didn’t believe that church leaders were following the Bible teachings as they should, and they didn’t believe that the church should be telling them what they could and could not do. However, countries such as England were still keeping many of the same forms of worship that had made the church corrupt.
