Jesus was becoming more popular every day. He was a good speaker and knew the Scriptures very well. He knew them better than the rabbis at the synagogues or even those at the temple in Jerusalem. He was healing people now too, something none of the prophets in Israel had done for hundreds of years. Everyone could see that Jesus was a very unusual Man, and more and more people were thinking He might be the Messiah.
