Lazarus was a very close friend of Jesus and one of His most faithful followers. When Jesus came to town, He often stayed at the home of Lazarus in Bethany, a small town not far from Jerusalem. In the home of Lazarus, Jesus could enjoy real rest from the crowds and the troublesome questions that the scribes and Pharisees always brought Him.
