When David died, his son Solomon reigned as king of Jerusalem and all Israel. King Solomon wanted to be faithful to God, as his father had been. Therefore, one of the first things he did was to go to the city of Gibeon to dedicate himself to the Lord. At Gibeon, God appeared to Solomon in a dream at night and said, What would you like Me to give you? Ask, and it will be given to you.
